Our Roots

The Victory Gardens for Peace Seed Bank was created in Mendocino in 2015 with the goal of re-invigorating a seed saving culture. Over the next 10 years, our efforts sprouted through various projects in local granges and libraries and access to free and local seeds was no longer an issue in our community. In 2026 we moved our operations to Elk, California and evolved into a conservation project to steward varieties which thrive in our coastal community. Welcome to the Victory Gardens for Peace Seed Conservation Project.

Our 5 key missions

Access

Make these varieties openly available

Education
